Ling Qi Jing (Spiritual Chess Oracle)

Cast the 12 sacred chess pieces to seek guidance from the cosmos.

What is the Ling Qi Jing?

While the I-Ching (Book of Changes) is famous worldwide, the Ling Qi Jing (灵棋经) was an elite divination system used strictly by scholars, high-ranking officials, and the emperor's inner circle during the Han Dynasty.

Unlike tossing three coins, the Ling Qi Jing requires the casting of 12 specific wooden chess pieces. These pieces are inscribed with the characters for 'Upper' (上), 'Middle' (中), and 'Lower' (下). The resulting pattern creates one of 125 unique hexagrams, each offering profoundly detailed advice.

The 125 Matrix vs. The 64 Hexagrams

Because it yields 125 possible outcomes rather than the I-Ching's 64, the Ling Qi Jing is considered to have a higher 'resolution' of prediction. It is particularly revered for its accuracy in matters of official career, severe legal disputes, and navigating treacherous office politics.

The Trinity of Divination

The 12 pieces are divided into three tiers, representing the cosmic trinity (San Cai):

4 Upper Pieces (Heaven)

Represents the macro environment, cosmic timing, authorities, and things beyond your control.

4 Middle Pieces (Man)

Represents you, your actions, your relationships, and human effort.

4 Lower Pieces (Earth)

Represents your foundation, subordinates, wealth, and physical resources.

The Rule of Sincerity (至诚感神)

In classical metaphysics, the Ling Qi Jing is known to be 'sensitive'. Do not cast the pieces playfully or ask the same question twice. The quantum synchronicity required for an accurate reading demands absolute focus and respect.
