Vimalacitra, Asura King
One of the four great Asura Kings in Buddhism, father-in-law of Indra. Residing at the bottom of the great sea north of Mount Sumeru, he excels at manifesting countless weapons and palaces in the void, with unfathomable divine power.
Divine Origins and Epic Legacy
His formidable reputation is recorded in both the Dīrgha Āgama and the Lotus Sūtra. Because his daughter Śacī was exceedingly beautiful and married Indra, he often led armies to battle against the Heaven of the Thirty-Three over intermarriage between the deva and asura realms and disputes over the celestial tree. He is one of the most prestigious ancient god-kings among the Asura pantheon.
