What are Xuan Kong Flying Stars?

Xuan Kong Flying Stars (玄空飞星 - Xuan Kong Fei Xing) is the most dynamic, accurate, and highly respected school of traditional Chinese Feng Shui. Unlike simple "fixed" Feng Shui rules (like putting a frog in the wealth corner), Flying Star Feng Shui treats energy (Qi) as a living, breathing entity that moves and changes over time.

There are nine specific stars, each representing a different frequency of energy—ranging from immense wealth and academic success to devastating illness and robbery. These nine stars fly across the nine sectors of the Bagua Map (八卦图) in a very specific mathematical pattern.

The Shift to Period 9 (九紫离火运)

In the Feng Shui calendar, time is divided into 20-year periods. On February 4, 2024, the world officially shifted from Period 8 (ruled by Earth) into Period 9 (ruled by Fire - 九紫离火运). Because of this massive shift, the #9 Purple Star has now become the primary Wealth Star for the next 20 years, while the old #8 star is slowly losing its power. This means the Feng Shui layout that worked for your home in 2020 might be actively hurting you today.

How to Use the Annual Star Chart

The calculator above shows you the Annual Flying Stars. These stars dictate the 'weather' of your home for the year. Here is a brief guide on how to handle the most important stars:

⚠️ The #5 Yellow (Misfortune)

The Five Yellow (五黄) is the most dangerous star, bringing accidents, severe financial loss, and tragedy. Cure: Keep this sector completely quiet. Do not renovate, dig, or play loud music here. Place a 6-rod metal windchime or heavy metal objects to exhaust its Earth energy.

🤒 The #2 Black (Illness)

The Two Black (二黑) brings chronic illness, lethargy, and physical weakness. Cure: Avoid sleeping in this sector if possible. Place a traditional brass Wu Lou (葫芦) or six metal coins here to suppress the sickness energy.

🔥 The #9 Purple (Current Wealth)

The Nine Purple (九紫) is the new king of wealth in Period 9. It brings rapid financial growth, fame, and joyous events (like marriages or births). Activate: Spend lots of time working or socializing in this sector. Add bright lights, red colors, or active moving items.

🏆 The #1 White (Victory & Career)

The One White (一白) brings career promotions, victory over competitors, and academic success. Activate: This is an excellent sector for a home office. Place a metal desk bell or a small, clean water feature (like a tabletop fountain) here.

The Danger of Annual Stars in Isolation

While adjusting your home based on the Annual Stars is crucial, it is only 30% of the complete Feng Shui picture.

The real secret to authentic Xuan Kong Feng Shui is understanding that your house has a Permanent Natal Chart (often called the Mountain and Water stars). This permanent chart is determined by the exact year your house was built (its Period) and its precise compass facing direction (e.g., South 2).
